Memories From Spitak

The word “spitak” means “white” in the Armenian.
Spitak was formerly known as Amamth and Hamamlu.
Before the earthquake Spitak, with population of 18,400, was one of the country’s developed industrial and agricultural centers.
The 1988 Armenian earthquake, also known as the Spitak earthquake occurred in the northern region of Armenia on Wednesday, December 7, 1988 at 11:41 local time. The earthquake measured 6.8 on the surface wave magnitude scale,
